Lent

On Saturday evening at Megaquest (P4- 6 event) some of the children coloured in "hallelujahs" at the start of the evening. After lots of games, a very funny retelling of the Good Samaritan, some hotdogs, and drawing some "cool" people, they took their "hallelujahs" home to hide away over Lent (Ash Wednesday is on the 9th March); on Easter Day they will bring out their "hallelujahs" and stick them up at home or take them to church. Everyone also took away a little book called "love life, live lent" http://livelent.net/

Lent is a time to "get away" from our normal lives, to stop some things, perhaps, not just because we want to be "self disciplined" but so we can clear out some of the "clutter" in our lives and make time to be more radically like Jesus.

When it comes to Easter day, and we can say "hallelujah, Christ is risen", will we have spent more time with Him over the previous 7 weeks and helped transform His world just a little? Have a look at "love life, live lent" - it will help!
