I seem to have attended a copious amount of conferences over the last few weeks, it is always good to find at least one good thing from these events.
A story has stayed with me from a Head Teacher from a large Lanarkshire Secondary School of the support offered to him and his staff during their merger. The chaplaincy team had sent all the staff a card during the upheaval of forming their new school. The HT said that 2 years on the card was still on his desk, he also commented that a fellow teacher had told him that her card was still stuck on her fridge at home.
A little note of kindness, expressing their care for the staff during the time of change, mattered! It was important...Jesus said the kingdom of heaven was like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds, but it grows into a huge tree, where the birds of the air come and find shelter.
